The Thjodneedle was a Viking's version of the notorious Needler and named after Thjodnir, a legendary hunter and blacksmith known for his skill with crafting weapons. Using a crystalline and slightly thick Stalhrim forged needle for projectiles which detonated after a few seconds, while the splinters flew about like flechettes. When rapid-firing this type of crossbow, those same needles retract by jutting down inwards one by one after the other one fully retracted; before they're reloaded and spring out like a porcupine's back.
